4. Monumento a la Independencia
This piece of art is also known as the Monument to the Heroes of August 10, 1809, it is a memorial column located in the center of the Plaza Grande. The construction honours the memory of the Quito patriots who initiated the struggles for the independence of Ecuador. It was inaugurated in 1906.

5. Cathedral of Quito
