Long before the Incas expanded their territories to the Collao Plateau and Lake Titicaca<\/strong>, the Aymara Kingdoms<\/strong> sowed the seeds of autonomous development in the Highlands. Those were the Collas, Pacajes, and Lupacas<\/strong> who laid the foundations of an ancient people whose roots remain alive today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neither the Incas\u2014\u201cthe children of the Sun\u201d\u2014nor the Spaniards who crossed the ocean to \u201cconquer\u201d America, were able to destroy the Aymara culture, which knew how to adapt to changes in order to preserve its beliefs, language, music, and more<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, in Peru, they are one of the largest indigenous peoples in the country. The majority live in six provinces of the Puno region<\/strong> and in communities in Moquegua and Tacna. Throughout their long and historic journey across the Altiplano, they left indelible archaeological and cultural traces.<\/p>\n\n\n

And it is these traces that you will discover on the Aymara Route<\/strong>, a tour that will bring you closer to the legacy of this remarkable people. During your excursion, you will explore extraordinary places such as the Inca Uyo or Temple of Fertility, the Waru Waru <\/strong>agricultural experimentation systems, the chullpas of Molloco<\/strong>, and the mysterious Aramu Muru portal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
