What has been said so far does not mean that there are no risks in what is also known as the \u201cPizarro Grid.\u201d Metropolitan Lima has serious security problems<\/strong>, but criminal activity is concentrated in certain districts or neighborhoods<\/strong>, which are not part of the tourist routes<\/strong>. Remember that criminals are always alert<\/strong> and take advantage of even a moment of distraction to carry out their ill-intentioned plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now let\u2019s move on to the Yes. In the historic center, there are several urban and monumental areas where you will feel at ease<\/strong>, allowing you to fully enjoy the colonial and republican architecture of old Lima; its squares and streets filled with history, tradition, and the past; its museums and art galleries; and, of course, the excellent local cuisine<\/a>, considered among the best in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When walking around the Plaza de Armas<\/strong>, Jir\u00f3n de la Uni\u00f3n, Plaza San Mart\u00edn<\/a>, the area surrounding the Church of San Francisco, and the other attractions included in the tourist circuits<\/a>, you will not only feel protected by the presence of the police and municipal security officers, but you will also realize that Lima is a vibrant and bustling city<\/strong>. These scenes challenge the myth and stigma that the \u201cThree Times Crowned City\u201d is a frightening and dangerous urban area.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ten Tips for Staying Safe in Lima\u2019s Historic Center<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
