Mr. Miguel Mujica Gallo was the founder of the Gold museum back in 1968, it’s currently located at the Santiago neighborhood, still owned and managed by the descendants of Mr. Miguel.

After visiting the first museum, you will visit the National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History of Peru, which was implemented inside a colonial Spanish mansion—place of residence of the penultimate viceroy Joaquín de la Pezuela—1821. This mansion is currently better known as La Quinta de Los Libertadores—because it was also a place of residence for both Simón Bolívar and San Martín. This museum is located in the Pueblo Libre neighborhood and it’s considered as the oldest museum of Peru, founded back in 1822.
