Meeting place — at about 04:30
We will pick you up by bus from your Hotel — as long as you stay in the historic center, otherwise we will coordinate another meeting place according to your convenience.
Cusco to Cusipata by bus
From very early in the morning, we go by bus to Cusipata district, where we will have our super delicious breakfast; the bus ride lasts 2.5 hours — Cusipata district is located at 3310 m.s.n.m.
Cusipata to Llaqto by bus
After the breakfast, we will continue driving for about 45 minutes more, until we reach the town of Llaqto, located at 4630 m.s.n.m.
Hike from Llaqto to Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain
From the Llaqto community, we will set out on foot, we will walk for approx. 1 hour, this walk is relatively easy, except for the last 25 minutes, because it is steep, so it requires a good physical condition, but it is totally possible to do it — Vinicunca is located at 5200 m.a.s.l.
Rainbow Mountain experience
Once on the mountain, our guide will explain about the geological history, reasons why it has many colors, importance and conservation of this attraction — at the end of the explanation, you will have 1/2 hour of free time.
Rainbow Mountain to the Red valley by foot — on your own
This itinerary does not include a visit to the Red Valley, but if you want to do it, you can do it on your own, let us know in advance.
Return to Cusipata
We return on foot from the mountain of colors (Vinicunca) to Llaqto, and then we will take the bus to get to Cusipata.
Lunch in Cusipata — at about 14:00
We will have a good semi-buffet lunch at a local restaurant.
Return to Cusco by bus
Ending place — at about 18:00
We finish this tour two blocks away from the Plaza de Armas — this tour doesn’t end at your hotel.
