  • Santa Rosa de Lima canonized on April 12, 1671, making her the first Saint born in America, therefore she is considered the Patron Saint of Peru, America and the Philippines.
  • Saint Martin de Porres was recently canonized on August 6, 1962, although he also lived in the 17th century, as did Saint Rosa, but his canonization took much longer due to his ethnic background. Currently, San Martín is considered the first Afro Saint of Peru and the World, he is also considered the Patron Saint of Peru and of Pharmacists.

During this walk you will pass through some colonial streets, squares and churches.

Visit of the Arch and Chinatown

Chinese migration was promoted by the Peruvian government due to the abolition of slavery of Afros in Peru. The Chinese came as cheap labor to work in different areas such as the extraction of Guano de Isla and the construction of railway networks in Peru.
